My initial reaction to the headline “Shane McGowan Rushed to Hospital” was the same as yours: the alcohol has finally taken its toll. Actually, no. At least not directly.

According The Irish Mirror, Shane was attempting some kind of “complicated dance move” when he crashed to the ground, breaking his pelvis in the process. He’s bedridden obviously and somewhat cranky, but he’s expected to recover. In other words, he fell, but thanks to the grace of God, he’s fine.

So why was this 57 attempting a “complicated dance move?” There’s your indirect alcohol effect.
