The Red Hot Chili Peppers and Billie Eilish are among those playing the closing ceremonies of the Paris Olympics

Damn, I’m going to miss watching the Olympics. For the past two weeks, I’ve had the TV for at least 10 hours a day, taking in sports that I only care about every four years.

These Olympics have been very music-heavy, perhaps even more than London 2012. It all began with Gojira’s awesome metal performance during the opening ceremonies. Flavor Flav was there supporting the US women’s water polo team as their primary sponsor. And of course, Snoop was everywhere as the Games’ official support Dogg (at US$500,000 a day. Worth it.)

Now it’s time to focus on the closing ceremonies, the big send-off to Paris and everyone’s introduction to the 2028 games in Los Angeles. Who will perform?

  • Snoop Dogg is set to appear in some fashion.
  • France will be represented by both Phoenix and Air
  • Red Hot Chili Peppers will play
  • Billie Eilish

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like they’ll be in Paris in the flesh. Variety reports that all three will be in L.A., beaming in their performances either live or in the form of something prerecorded.

Authorities in L.A. are concerned about security after the terroritst threats against Taylor Swift’s Eras tour in Vienna. At this point, the location of the RHCP/Billie Eilish/Snoop Dogg performances are being kept secret.
