The Taylor Swift Apocalypse has hit Toronto. You won’t believe what people are asking for tickets.

Today (November 14) marks the first of two three-day weekends of All-Taylor-All-The-Time in Toronto. Three sold-out Rogers Centre shows this week and another three starting next Thursday. You’ve probably heard how the city has gone bonkers with security, traffic preparations, transit additions, parties, meet-ups and a ton of other things.

But let’s talk about the price of a ticket to one of the shows. Multiple analyses of concert ticket prices show that getting into a Tay-Tay show is one of the most expensive single-event entertainment propositions in all of Canada. The most expensive is the US$75,000 ticket for the Met Gala, followed by a ticket to the Grammys (US$3,500), and then Taylor in third (US$2,451).

Phht. Pish. Did those analysts look at Toronto?

Check the secondary sellers. This is a SeatGeek map of the Rogers Centre.

But even that doesn’t tell the story. I heard of a woman being offered $38,000 for her seats–and she turned it down. And BlogTO found tickets going for $99,507. That is not a typo.
