The vocalist and guitarist of Canada’s Dayglo Abortions have been arrested in Ohio

Victoria’s Dayglo Abortions have been a fixture on the Canadian punk scene since (believe it or not) 1979 and are no strangers to legal trouble, usually for things like obscenity charges. They also have a number of anti-American songs like “America Eats Her Young” and “Christina Bin Laden.”

Now there’s more trouble. Murray Action (aka The Cretin) and guitarist Mike Fiorito are currently in jail in Ohio after being arrested in the middle of an American tour that began in July. Both were taken into custody Saturday (August 30) after a traffic stop in Ashland, Ohio, after a show in Cleveland for “possession of drugs,” specifically “schedule I or II substance.”

Why were they stopped? No idea, but we’re told that it has nothing to do with immigration or border issues. This, however, won’t help with that in the future.

A hearing will be held today.
