Controversy

The White House just pissed off Taylor Swift with this TikTok post

If you’re a company and you use someone’s song in a social media post without seeking permission and paying a licensing feed. Marriott, DSW, Bang Energy, OFRA Cosmetics, the University of Southern California, Chili’s and fourteen NBA teams have all been sued over this. Eminem is all over Meta for using his songs without permission, too.

Which brings me to this TikTok post from the dumbest and most lawless White House administration ever. This TikTok post not only uses “The Fate of Ophelia” by Taylor Swift but even stole copyrighted images from Getty Images. They didn’t even bother to hide the watermark on one photo.

I’m only going to link to the video because I don’t want to be complicit. Watch it here.

Should Tay-Tay sue? Will Universal Music sue? Will Getty sue? Or will Trump’s people say this all fall under “Federal sovereign immunity?” I think we know the answer.
