There’s a new song from The Tragically Hip today, sort of. But fans will love it.

The Tragically Hip have a huge archive that has preserved almost everything the band ever did. This includes a trove of live recordings from over the decades.

Today, we get a double A-side featuring “Fifty-Mission Cap” (recorded in Edmonton) and “Locked in the Trunk of a Car” (recorded at The Hip’s last-ever show in Kingston, on August 20, 2016.)

This is part of a larger project entitled Live July 22-August 20, 2016, which will featured selected performances from that last tour and is due August 21. The following night, the CBC will re-run the entire 2016 Kingston show on its 10th anniversary.
