Julien’s is an auction house that does big business in the rock memorabilia space. They have an event coming up in New York at the end of May called Music Icons. Let’s have a look at the inventory, shall we?
- A 1975 Gibson Les Paul owned by Ace Frehley. He played this guitar more than any other. It’ll probably sell for between US$400,000 and US$600,000.
- Stevie Ray Vaughn’s 1969 Guild F-412 that he used for an MTV unplugged show in 1990. You can have it for probably US$300,000.
- Kirk Hammett’s “Ouija” ESP custom guitar. He used it both on stage and in the studio with Metallica. Let’s estimate its sale price somewhere north of US$250,000.
- Too dear? Izzy Stradlin’s 1987 Gibson HR Fusion 1 will probably only cost you US$50,000.
- Billy Duffy’s guitar as seen on the cover of The Cult’s Sonic Temple album.
- A used gong from Black Sabbath’s Bill Ward
- Once of Alice Cooper’s leather jackets
