There’s more info about Spotify’s “superpremium” tier

Spotify users have been waiting for almost two years for the platform to up its game when it comes to audio quality. Apple, Tidal, Qobuz, Amazon, and others are already available in higher-resolution audio while Spotify seems stuck in 2017.

A “superpremium” tier was announced in February 2021. Promises have been made and broken several times since then. Now, though, someone looking through Spotify code has identified changes that seem to include the ability to carry lossless audio. There are also references to audiobooks.

The Verge also reports on the possibility of 24-bit lossless audio, AI playlists, advanced mixing tools and more.

How much? Maybe (or not) $19.99 a month.
