So There’s a Music Angle to the Latest Twist in the Trump-Russia Thing
The obsession with finding some kind of collusion between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin isn’t going away anytime soon. The latest twist involves a meeting last June with a (possibly) Kremlin-connected lawyer that included Donald Trump Jr, Jared Kushner and then-campaign chairman Paul Manafort. This lawyer, Natalia Veselnitskaya, said she had some damaging information about Hillary Clinton–but let’s move beyond that to the music angle to all this.
The meeting was arranged by Rob Goldstone, a music publicist who is connected to Donald Trump Jr. He claims that a Russian connection asked him to arrange the meeting with Veselnitskaya. Goldstone is the manager for Emin Agalarov, a Russian pop star who apparently has an ongoing relationship with the Trump family. To prove it, here’s a music video from 2013 featuring Agalarov and a guy who you might recognize.
What does all this mean? Who knows? Maybe nothing. Maybe everything. Whatever the case, it just pours more gasoline on the whole story.
