Radio

There’s now a radio station called “Trump Country.” It’s in Florida, of course.

MAGA is not a cult. Nope nope nope. This is completely normal and natural and not sycophantic at all.

If you find yourself in the vicinity of Fort Myers, Florida, you may have the misfortune of hearing Trump Country 93.7. Their slogan is “Make Country Great Again.” This is real.

This isn’t the first time the station–call letters WHEL–tried this. They briefly went Trump in late 2020 for a couple of months. But now they’re back and according to the station’s GM, the station’s ratings in the all-important 25-54 demo have tripled since March. It’s the second-highest rated station in the area. Imaging and branding uses a Trump soundalike on the air. Recently, they also held a “Deportation Day” contest where the winner got a cruise to Mexico, passing through “The Gulf of America.”

Did they ask Trump for permission? Nope. But do you think that Trump would be upset by such adoration and worship? Nope.

BONUS: It’s not quite as bad, but Buffalo has a new station called The Patriot.
