They’re not Beastie Boys “dolls.” They’re “Sabotage” action figures

One of the greatest (if not THE greatest) Beastie Boys songs and videos has to be “Sabotage” from 1994. If you know of someone who adores the song–and especially the Spike Jonze-directed video–here’s what you need to get them for Christmas.

Again, these are not dolls. They’re action figures. Really. And so we’re clear, these characters have names:

  • MCA: Nathan Wind playing Cochese
  • Ad-Rock: Vic Colfari playing Bobby
  • Mike D: Alasaondro Alegré playing The Chief

Alan Cross

is an internationally known broadcaster, interviewer, writer, consultant, blogger and speaker. In his 40+ years in the music business, Alan has interviewed the biggest names in rock, from David Bowie and U2 to Pearl Jam and the Foo Fighters. He’s also known as a musicologist and documentarian through programs like The Ongoing History of New Music.

I just ordered 2 sets! One for me and one as a Christmas gift for a friend!

PS Huge Beasties fan here… Sabotage is a great video, but not even close to their greatest song! It’s just Ad Rock screaming into the mic, it’s fun, but hardly epitomizes the boys entering anarchistic states towards inner excellence boys.
