WTF?

They’ve Run Out of Ideas for Rock Operas. There’s Now One About Yeast. You Heard Me.

Musical theatre can be a weird place. Musical theatre in San Francisco can be extra-weird. As proof, I present Yeast Town, a new rock musical based on yeast.  Yes, the little things that make bread rise and cause infections, you know, down there.

So what could such a production be all about? Let me quote from the show’s producers:

In the year 3,000,458,000 B.C., the salt-eating yeasts are the only living creatures on earth, and they’re up against a food shortage, a strange new emotion called “love” and the oppression of a tyrannical king. When the king’s dreamer of a son ventures out of the known yeastiverse, the yeasts’ story – and ours – is changed forever.

Okay, that didn’t really help. Maybe this video will clear things up.

No? Then read more here. Not that it will help. Thanks to Tom. Sort of.
