Think it’s tough getting tickets to a hot concert? Try buying game 7 Raptors tickets.
The Toronto Raptors missed a chance to take the championship last night with game five of the NBA finals at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. Dammit. So close.
Before the game, I checked on StubHub to find tickets ranging in price from about $2,100 for section 306 (waaaaaaaay up in the corner) to a pair of courtside seats behind the Raptors’ bench for $83,000. (That price includes about $10K in fees.)
But now that we’re guaranteed a game 7 in Toronto, those prices look like a bargain.
A check on StubHub this morning uncovered a pair of tickets in Courtside North in the VIP section behind the Raptors’ bench for US$135,000. That’s not a typo.
I’ll do the conversion for you. That’s $178,924.01 in Canadian money.
Too rich? Then move down to a pair in Courtside South for US$100,806.45. But it pays to shop around. Other courtside seats are available for US$71,999.10 and less.
Strapped for cash? Then there’s one ticket in Balcony Sideline 319–which is so far up you need oxygen and is standing room only–available for US$1,619.05 or about $2,150 in our bucks.
Ticket search website TicketIQ says this is the most expensive NBA finals game they’ve ever tracked.
According to the Globe and Mail (subscription):
- Just 3,000 tickets were available to the general public for the game. The rest are held by season ticket holders, the league, sponsors, etc.
- Ticketmaster has blocked 5 million bots from buying tickets.
