Think Today’s Songs Are Obscene? Listen to This Ditty from 1935

You think Ke$ha or Madonna is raunchy?  Hah!  They got nothin’ on Lucille Bogan and her 1935 song, “Shave ‘Em Dry.”  It’s definitely NSFW or the radio.  And if anyone from Lucille’s estate is reading this, you should be suing Mick Jagger over the lyrics in “Start Me Up.”

If you need a transcript of the lyrics, they’re posted for all to see at Buzzfeed.

Have you seen what Alan's Mission Statement is?

"Filtering what’s happening in music to save you time, money and effort."

He sorts through the crap on reddit, Pitchfork, Spin, BuzzFeed… so you and I don't have too.
    It's much appreciated Alan.
