It’s an interesting time of year for physical music sales. New releases slow down and streaming involves a lot of Christmas music. Here’s the weekly report on vinyl and CD sales for Canada along with updated streaming numbers. Everything is courtesy of Luminate.

CDs sold in Canada last week: 28,759. (Down -5.6% from last week)
Vinyl sales in Canada last week: 34,049 (Down 3.0% from a week ago.)
CDs sold in Canada this year: 1,343,232 (down 3.1% from this point last year)
Vinyl sold in Canada this year: 1,472,400 (up 18.8% from a year ago).

Streaming numbers:

Songs streamed in Canada last week: 2,857,114,6907 (Down 1.0% from a week ago)
Songs streamed in Canada so far this year: 126,814,314,020 (up 5.7% from this time in 2024)
