What’s going on with sales of vinyl and CDs this week? How about some streaming numbers? Glad to help out with these figures from Luminate.

  • CDs sold in Canada last week: 35,938 (up 9.3% from last week. Is that an Ozzy/Sabbath bump??
  • Vinyl sales in Canada last week: 34,426 (up 15.4%. Another Ozzy/Sabbath bump?)
  • CDs sold in Canada this year: 877,098 (down 8.4% from this point last year)
  • Vinyl sold in Canada this year: 972,046 (up 15.0% from a year ago)

Streaming numbers:

  • Songs streamed in Canada last week: 2,912,251,948 (down 0.8% from last week)
  • Songs streamed in Canada so far this year: 86,002,635,564 (up 5.3% from this time in 2024)
