This is your weekly Canadian music sales and streaming report (28 Aug 2025)

Vinyl up, CD sales and streaming down. Here are the numbers courtesy Luminate.

  • CDs sold in Canada last week: 31,909 (down -1.9% last week. For context, that means 602 fewer CDs were sold.)
  • Vinyl sales in Canada last week: 32,801 (up 6.2%)
  • CDs sold in Canada this year: 973,086 (down 7.3% from this point last year)
  • Vinyl sold in Canada this year: 1,065,188 (up 15.9% from a year ago).

Streaming numbers:

  • Songs streamed in Canada last week: 2,887,097,7567 (down 0.3% from last week)
  • Songs streamed in Canada so far this year: 94,662,383,104 (up 5.5% from this time in 2024. Another couple of weeks and we should reach 100 million.)
