Before you look at these numbers, remember that just like last week, there’s a Taylor Swift effect, although it’s working in the opposite direction. Here’s what we have for CD sales, vinyl sales, and streaming numbers the week after Life of a Showgirl was released.
- CDs sold in Canada last week: 37,390 (down 53.9% from last week)
- Vinyl sales in Canada last week: 44,036 (down 50.5%)
- CDs sold in Canada this year: 1,241,433 (down 4.1% from this point last year)
- Vinyl sold in Canada this year: 1,368,195 (up 19.3% from a year ago).
Streaming numbers:
- Songs streamed in Canada last week: 2,898,963,071 (down 2.8% from last week)
- Songs streamed in Canada so far this year: 118,167,693,298 (up 5.7% from this time in 2024)
Back to Tay-Tay. She broke a bunch of Canadian chart records with Life of a Showgirl.
