This is your weekly Canadian vinyl and CD sales report along with what’s happening in streaming (06 Nov 2025)

Luminate is the company that monitors the consumption patterns of Canadian music fans. Here’s what they can tell us this week.

  • CDs sold in Canada last week: 30,462. (Down 28.5% from last week, but this is a more average number these days.)
  • Vinyl sales in Canada last week: 35,165 (Another normal-ish number. UP 0.6% from a week ago.)
  • CDs sold in Canada this year: 1,314,473 (down 3.0% from this point last year)
  • Vinyl sold in Canada this year: 1,438,306 (up 19.0% from a year ago).

Streaming numbers:

  • Songs streamed in Canada last week: 2,887,007,277 (Down 0.5% from last week. This will start ticking up the closer we get to Christmas and people start streaming holiday songs.)
  • Songs streamed in Canada so far this year: 123,957,199,330 (up 5.7% from this time in 2024)
