These months–September, October, and November–are hugely important to the recorded music industry. Here’s what’s happening with vinyl, CDs and streaming. Here are the official numbers from Luminate.

CDs sold in Canada last week: 19,105 (down a whopping 29.3% from last week)
Vinyl sales in Canada last week: 21,393 (down by a full 27.0%)
CDs sold in Canada this year: 1,088,494 (down 7.4% from this point last year)
Vinyl sold in Canada this year: 1,191,390 (up 15.7% from a year ago).

Streaming numbers:

Songs streamed in Canada last week: 2,958,696,713 (up 0.9% from last week)
Songs streamed in Canada so far this year: 106,366,388,064 (up 4.7% from this time in 2024)
