This musician figured out how to game Google Assistant to freak out Spotify. It’s pretty freakin’ brilliant.

I spent yesterday installing and moving about a couple of new Google Assistant devices around the house. Once they were up and running, I tested them with a number of commands that began with the standard “Hey, Google.” When I asked it to play me some quiet music, I ran into Drumkoon, a Danish artist who cracked both Google Assistant and Spotify at the same time.

Drumkoon just released an album called Ok Google Play Music. Here’s what it looks like on Spotify. You can see the problem.

And there’s more. Digging a little deeper, I found that Drumkoon has albums called Hey Siri Play Music and Hey Alexa Play Music.

I don’t know if I should be mad at the guy or send him hearty congratulations.

UPDATE: Mr. Drumkoon saw this post and contacted me. Here’s a link to all his music. And then there’s this documentary on the man.
