This new app is essentially a Shazam for album artwork. Cool.

Ever been shopping for music and come across an album that looks interesting, but you hesitate buying it because you’re not sure what it sounds like? There’s now a solution.

A company called Glitch has introduced a new app called Record Player that could be helpful for vinyl buyers, record collectors and crate diggers.

Using your phone’s camera, the app is connected to both the Spotify API and the Google Cloud Vision API. Snap a picture of any album and the app finds it on a streaming music service. You’re listening to the album in seconds, which should help you make up your mind.

Here’s how it works.
