This New David Bowie Coffee Table Book Comes with a Coffee Table (Sort Of)

Remember the Seinfeld episode where Kramer came up with the idea about a coffee table book about coffee tables? When you thought about it, this was a rather brilliant concept, one of those “why didn’t I think of that?” moments.

Well, here’s another: a coffee table book that comes with its own coffee table. Shit! Brilliant!

Bloomberg reports on this fall’s line-up of coffee table books which includes For the Rebel: The Rise of David Bowie, a beautiful collection of shots taken by Mick Rock in 1972 and 1973 when Bowie was at his Ziggyest. It has a hologram cover and comes in a pink-trimmed clamshell box. A limited run of 1,972 copies (geddit?) will be signed by both Bowie and Rock. How much? Just $700 USD.

Of course, a coffee table book this special needs a special coffee table on which to display it. Bloomberg recommends pairing it with this: a classic 1960s Plexiglas piece designed by Yves Klein.

How much? It says “price available upon request.” Never mind, then.
