Documentary

This upcoming Eddie Vedder film is a different sort of music documentary

A couple of years ago, Eddie Vedder performed a series of benefit concerts at Benaroya Hall in Seattle to raise awareness of a rare genetic skin disease called Epidermolysis Bullosa, which causes painful blisters all over the body, including inside the mouth. There is no cure.

Searching for effective treatment and a cure for EB is a mission for Eddie when he discovered the son of his wife’s childhood friend was diagnosed with the condition. That prompted Eddie to establish the EB Research Partnership.

His activism, along with highlights from those 2023 Seattle shows, is included in Matter of Time, a documentary that offers not just music but all kinds of personal stories from sufferers as well as researchers and scientists. As the blurb states, the film reinforces “the belief that art, science, and love can fuel a cure.” (Via Sean)
