This upcoming tour by a solo performer could gross OVER TWO BILLION DOLLARS. Any guesses who that’s going to be?

As things stand right now, the richest concert tour of all time is the still-running Goodbye Yellow Brick Road farewell trip with Elton John. The last time I checked, ol’ Reg has grossed US$853 million over 293 shows. By the time this thing wraps up, it’ll finish with a gate of at least US$900 million.

This begs the question: How long will it be before someone manages to gross a BILLION dollars from one tour? The answer: soon, apparently.

Beyonce is working here way through the Renaissance World Tour. Forbes estimates that by the time it wraps up in September, the box office gross could be as high as US$2.4 billion.

How is this possible? It’s her first world tour in seven years, so there’s a lot of demand (she’s doing stadium gigs). Second, ticket prices ain’t cheap. And third, Forbes believes that Bey will sell a considerable amount of merchandise.

What about Taylor Swift’s current Eras tour? Oh, she’ll do fine but Forbes estimate that the gross will be only (only!) US$1.4 billion. And Elton? He’ll have to stay on the road for another five years if he wants to hold onto the title of all-time concert box office champion.
