This was inevitable: The “AI Top 40”

The AI Top 40 calls itself a “live, fully AI-generated chart show.” Great.

Its creators–still most likely human at this point–trained the model on nearly 50,000 hours of actual, real-life radio broadcasts. The countdown is hosted by “Nexus James,” who sounds very AI. In other words, there’s no humanity or soul here. It’s certainly…inoffensive it is presentation.

What’s the point? To showcase the potential/power of AI-generated music and chart show presentation. But do we really need to go here?
