This Week’s Top 11 Playlist

I’m working with a company called Mediazoic to design a stream for the website which will be updated every Friday.  This post is a test to see how well the code works.  But it’s a big a work in progress.  We’re already working on some modifications behind the scenes.

Meanwhile, just press “play” and let ‘er rip. All comments and critiques about the player and its functionality are encouraged.

  • Alan, the player seems to work great, and I think it's an excellent addition to your site. However, the method of choosing which song you want to hear is awkward and confusing.

  • @Steve: Thanks for the comments! You need to consider this similar to a radio experience where you don't pick a specific song you want to listen to but just press play, sit back and listen to Alan's stream.

Hope that clarifies things a bit, if not, let me know if you have any other questions/feedback.

    Thanks.

  • @Steve – Perhaps we need to communicate better in the player that the icons below the current track playing are other "stations", not other song choices. The idea of that "slider" is for it to work like a radio tuner, allowing you to change stations (not that you would ever want to with Alan's playing!) within the player and see what's playing elsewhere in the system. if that isn't clear, we need to do a better job of communicating that intuitively.

  • Ok, I get it now. I think you're right, a little more explanation would clarify that right away. The player is working very well though.

  • Because this player is embedded in a post and does not pop out, it'll stop playing if you move from one window to another. That will be fixed.
