Three Days Grace announces the shock return of original vocalist Adam Gontier

When Three Days Grace first came together in Norwood, Ontario, back in 1992 as Groundswell, Adam Gontier was their singer. He stayed with the band through 2013 when he left and was replaced by Matt Walst, the younger brother of bass player Brad Walst and ex of the band My Darkest Days. It was a quick departure and not really properly explained. Creative differences? Maybe. Whatever the case, Adam ended up with a very good band called Saint Ansonia while 3DG continued.

On October 2, though, this appeared online.

This follows a surprise appearance by Adam with the band during a show in Nashville.

So is this a reunion? It sure looks like it. I quote Adam from a press release: “It’s been so much fun and inspiring making this record. Combining over 20 years of Three Days Grace and doing something that no band has ever done. I’m excited for the fans to hear it!”

Cool. Bring it on.
