Three-quarters of the classic Smashing Pumpkins lineup are in the studio together

I can just imagine this conversation happening recently in a Chicago recording studio.

“Band meeting! Billy?”

“Present”

“Jimmy Chamberlin?”

“Here”

“James Iha?”

“Right over here.”

“D’Arcy? D’Arcy? No? We’ll just mark her down as ‘stuck in traffic’ or something. Shall we begin?”

With three-quarters of the classic Smashing Pumpkins lineup apparently playing nice together…

…how far are we from having perfect attendance?

I do have a Deep State source who claims that there will be a Pumpkins reunion (and possibly an album) this year. The focus (or so I’ve been told) will be on an arena tour sometime in the fall and not part of any festival situations.

Will it happen? It depends on how much money promoters put on the table. And if D’Arcy can’t make it, please draft in Melissa Auf Der Maur.
