TikTok is now offline in America. No, wait. It’s not. What happened? (UPDATES)

After losing a Supreme Court appeal against being banned, TikTok followed through on its promise to go offline in the US. Users were greeted by this message.

Not only that, but the app has disappeared from American Apple and Google app stores.

So now what? Trump says that he’s in favour of delaying the ban by 90 days because, despite being super anti-TikTok in the past, one of his new friends/donors/inauguration invitees is the CEO of TikTok. Not suspicious at all. Nope

The theory is that he’s going to reverse the ban in an effort to make himself look like a hero to TikTok users. He’ll blame Biden for the ban, of course.

UPDATE: Sunday morning, Trump said he’ll issue an executive order to restore TikTok. Stand by for more news.
UPDATE: Funny, but TikTok is already back online. Gee, how strange.

It seems like the right time to feature this song.
