Time again for the weekly Canadian CD and vinyl sales report. Streaming stats, too! (16 Apr 2026)

It’s hard to believe, but 2026 is almost a third over. Here’s where things stand when it comes to Canadian CD and vinyl sales, according to industry watcher Luminate. Keep in mind these numbers reflect the second week drop in sales of the new BTS album.

  • CDs sold in Canada last week: 29,234 (Down 21.0% from last week.)
  • Vinyl sales in Canada last week: 31,048 (Down 23.0% from a week ago.)
  • CDs sold in Canada this year: 422,139 (Up 3.1% from a year ago)
  • Vinyl sold in Canada this year: 501,306 (Up 3.8% from this time last year.)

  Streaming numbers:

  • Songs streamed in Canada last week: 2,929,249,330 (Down 2.9% from a week ago.)
  • Songs streamed in Canada so far this year: 40,745,043,925 (Up 4.2% from this time in 2025)
