Time for our weekly check on Canadian CD and vinyl sales as well as streaming stats (27 Nov 2025)

It was a down week for CD and vinyl sales due to (a) fewer new releases, and (b) everyone waiting for Black Friday sales. Next week’s numbers will likely be much different, especially for vinyl due to the Black Friday edition of Record Store Day. Streaming is up, though, probably because people are listening to more Christmas music.

  • CDs sold in Canada last week: 22,439. (Down 32.5% from last week)
  • Vinyl sales in Canada last week: 33,778 (Down 13.6% from a week ago.)
  • CDs sold in Canada this year: 1,398,901 (Down 3.7% from this point last year)
  • Vinyl sold in Canada this year: 1,545,296 (Up 18.6% from a year ago).

  Streaming numbers:

  • Songs streamed in Canada last week: 2,943,298,464 (Up 2.2% from a week ago)
  • Songs streamed in Canada so far this year: 132,636,775,897 (up 5.7% from this time in 2024)
