Time for the weekly Canadian CD, vinyl, and streaming report (09 Oct 2025)

Back to the normal schedule of reporting on the weekly sales of CDs and vinyl in Canada long with a look at what we’re streaming. All figures courtesy of Luminate.

  • CDs sold in Canada last week: 16,554 (Another anemic week. Down 7.9% from last week, which was already lacklustre.)
  • Vinyl sales in Canada last week: 22,808 (Up 4.1%, rebounding a little from a rough previous week.)
  • CDs sold in Canada this year: 1,123,028 (down 9.1% from this point last year)
  • Vinyl sold in Canada this year: 1,235,1244 (up 13.5% from a year ago).

Streaming numbers:

  • Songs streamed in Canada last week: 2,955,936,046 (down 0.3% from last week)
  • Songs streamed in Canada so far this year: 112,286,198,587 (up 5.7% from this time in 2024)
