Time for the weekly Canadian vinyl and CD sales report with some streaming numbers thrown in (30 Oct 2025)

The hysteria over Taylor Swift’s Life of a Showgirl has largely played out as all the Swifties have completed their purchase. What does that reveal about everything else happening with CDs, vinyl, and streaming? Let’s take a look. All number courtesy Luminate.

  • CDs sold in Canada last week: 43,578. (A good number. Up 14.0% from last week.)
  • Vinyl sales in Canada last week: 34,946 (Interesting. Down 20.6% from a week ago.)
  • CDs sold in Canada this year: 1,28,011 (down 3.0% from this point last year)
  • Vinyl sold in Canada this year: 1,403,141 (up 19.1% from a year ago).

Streaming numbers:

  • Songs streamed in Canada last week: 2,902,498,805 (up 0.1% from last week)
  • Songs streamed in Canada so far this year: 121,070,192,103 (up 5.8% from this time in 2024)
