Until Such Time There is a New Tool Album, These Two Tool-Related Projects Will Help

Tool drummer Danny Carey went on the record last week saying that there will “definitely” be a Tool album in 2018.

Uh-huh. We’ve heard that before. However, we do have a couple of things to keep us company until then. In fact, there’s the potential that we’ll have so much Tool and Tool-related stuff, we won’t know what do with ourselves. Sounds good to me,.

First, Maynard’s other OTHER band, A Perfect Circle, has (allegedly) an album scheduled for…er, we’re not sure and they’re not saying. But at least there’s a new song and video in the wild. When (if) this album gets here, it’ll be the band’s first since 2004.

And then there’s this: Legend of Seagullmen, Danny Carey’s project with Brend Hinds of Mastodon, Pete Griffin of Dethklok and a whack of other people, both real and imagined. They have a self-titled debut album coming February 9 through Dine Alone. Here’s the first taste.
