Today is Dynamic Range Day! SPREAD THE WORD!

Don’t go looking for this on a calendar because you won’t find it.  You’ll just have to take my word for it.

Dynamic Range Day was founded by some people who hate what’s happening to music.  Too much compression.  Too much distortion.  The madness of the Loudness Wars.

I, for one, applaud these effects.  There is no reason a CD mastered today should sound worse than a disc purchased in 1987.  It’s time to take a stand–and to take up arms, if necessary.
