Today’s Staggering Statistic Compares Jay Z’s TIDAL to the New Call of Duty
Outside of gamers and those who supply them with their fix, I get the impression that the planet doesn’t fully appreciate how big the video game industry is. This stat should make it very, very clear:
The new Call of Duty: Black Ops III earned $550 million in just three days. That is the biggest launch of any entertainment enterprise, including movies, music and anything to do with book publishing.
To put another way, that’s MORE THAN TEN TIMES what Jay Z paid for TIDAL earlier this year.
Fans have spent more than 75 million hours online since the game came out last Friday.
