Tool has chosen a producer for its new album. That’s something, right?

Another positive sign that Tool is actually working on a new album: the naming of “Evil” Joe Baressi as its producer. That news comes from guitarist Adam Jones hisself.

If you’re a reader of liner notes, you’ll know that Joe has worked with Queens of the Stone Age, Bad Religion, Avenged Sevenfold, Chevelle and, perhaps most notably, James Maynard Keenan’s Puscifer.

Fingers crossed that this all works out. Eleven years, 10 months, 9 days and counting.
