Toronto’s Mod Club has suddenly and permanently closed.

After about twenty years featuring uncountable cool shows, the Mod Club on College in Toronto’s Little Italy has suddenly closed its doors. This tweet appeared tonight (November 6).

The Mod Club was perhaps the city’s best 500-ish capacity club. When I was PD at 102.1 The Edge, we presented a show with Muse at the club. You can imagine that spectacle. We also ran a British-focused live-to-air radio show that packed in the crowds.

Dammit. I hate to lose the place. Sean sent this picture of the building as it appeared in 1922.
