Touring musicians should look at this cool software for keeping things straight on the road

Heading out on tour can be a logistical nightmare. You have to worry about things like routing, hotels, gas stops, venue addresses, guest lists, soundcheck times, crew needs, getting paid and paying people, interviews, and keeping track of a million contacts. Ask any road manager what that’s like.

That’s where Master Tour comes in. It offers online services and software that smooth the bumps that can come up during a tour. Given what Master Tour can do, the US$49.95/month subscription fee seems reasonable. And given it’s used by people associated with everyone from Metallica to Beyonce, it’s been put through its paces by pros.

A new more powerful (and mobile-friendly) version (v3.0) will be available later this month. Meanwhile, here’s a–ahem–a tour of the software’s capabilities.
