What Tragically Hip Lyrics Should Be Written in Stone?

The Hip tributes just keep coming. The latest comes from Kingston City Council who wants to commemorate the August 20 hometown gig with the placement of a special stone in Springer Market Square, the gathering place of thousands of people the night of the show.

It’s been decided that the stone will have a snippet of Tragically Hip lyrics carved upon it. But which of their words are worthy of being written in stone?

To make it a bit easier, Council has narrowed it down to just two choices:

(1) “…everyone was in it from miles around…” (from “Blow at High Dough,” of course)

(2) “We danced the sidewalk clean…” (from “New Orleans is Sinking”)

Tough call.

Whatever if the choice, the stone will also carry the words “The Tragically Hip, a National Celebration, August 20, 2016.”

If you would like to vote, go here. Deadline is October 12.
