Trailer for Tragically Hip Doc Long Time Running is Out for Canada Day

If you were at any of the Tragically Hip shows last summer, you would have seen cameras all over the place. “They’re capturing everyone,” one insider told me. “They’re not entirely sure what they’re going to do with all this footage, but you can bet that it’ll be big.”

That the tour would be turned into a documentary was a no-brainer, of course. And now we have a trailer for the film which will debut in theatres September followed by some kind of television run.

Judging by this early look at Long Time Running, we’re going to get lots of interviews, views from backstage and talks with die-hard fans. The whole thing was directed by Jennifer Baichwal and Nicolas de Pencier, both veteran documentarians and produced by the Banger Films guys, Scot McFadyen and Sam Dunn.
