Travel Tip: 7 Popular Rock Star Graves

I’ll admit to being something of a ghoul in this regard.  In May 2010, a buddy and I paid a visit to Jim Morrison’s grave in Pere Lachaise cemetery in Paris.

Both of us signed the tree next to the grave site and sat with a couple of hippies who were drinking beer at 9 in the morning.  The grave also had its own cat who seemed to be protecting something.

This actually counts as a visit to the final resting place of two musicians.  Dead Boys leader Stiv Bators had his ashes sprinkled on Jim’s grave.

CNN lists Jim’s plot as one of the six most-visited rock star grave sites on the planet.  I would have added a sixth:  Ian Curtis’ spot in Macclesfield Cemetery near Manchester.  (I wonder if they ever recovered the stolen grave marker?)

If you would like to search for the final resting place of anyone famous, I can recommend this website. Happy, er, hunting.
