Travis Scott set an amazing new record for attendance at an online concert

With so everyone on lockdown, artists are turning online to stage performances.

This week, Travis Scott played a gig inside Fortnite in front of 12.3 million concurrent players. That obliterated the previous Fortnite record held by Marshmello with his 10.7 participants in February 2019.

How profitable was this? Fortnite hasn’t released details, but conservative industry estimates is that Scott probably made about US$2 million from the sales of skins and merch.
