Trent Reznor finally announces the final third of the triptych of NIN EPs

Two days before Christmas 2016, Trent Reznor dropped a surprise Nine Inch Nails EP on fans called Not the Actual Events. Promoted as the first of a three-part series that were somehow all connected, fans got a second EP entitled Add Violence last July. Symmetry demanded that part three be released sometime around this past Christmas.

But nothing. Crickets.

Now, though, Trent has let it be known that episode three will be available sometime in the next few months, most likely before the band hits the road for a series of European dates in late June.

Here’s what he told BBC’s 6 Music:

We started out with a rigid concept, having not written them all. As we finished Add Violence we found ourselves…it felt too predictable. It felt like we were forcing things. Musically and storytelling-wise. The reason this has been delayed is because it took us a while for—what has become the third EP—to reveal itself to us. We’re in the process of finishing this right now and should be out before the shows take place.

Good. Place your bets for a release on June 1, 8 or 15.
