“Trudeau, It’s Me”: Lloydminster’s Way of Asking for Federal Funding
Music has often been used as a means to get attention, and now with the internet, people have much more reach than ever before. A group of residents from Lloydminster, a small town that straddles the Alberta-Saskatchewan border, are combining the power of YouTube with Adele’s hit “Hello” to try to get the Prime Minister’s attention and some money for infrastructure.
Lloydminster is looking for federal funding to build an amphitheatre, a highway corridor, and a wastewater treatment plant. The residents took the original lyrics to Adele’s song and changed them to ask for the funding, titling it “Trudeau, It’s Me”.
