Tuesday are often the worst days of the week.  As the Kings once sang “Nothing matters but the weekend/From a Tuesday point of view.”  

Take a break and get caught up on what’s happening in music this morning.

 

 

The people who edit the Oxford English Dictionary–the language police of the English speaking world–have decided to drop “cassette tape.”  “Sexting” and “quomodocunquize” (verb; making money in any way possible) are okay but “cassette tape” isn’t?

We’re moving closer to establishing standards for connecting your car (and your smart phone) to the Internet.  This is good.

Duff McKagan (GnR, Velvet Revolver, Loaded) is going to launch his own wealth management business this October Don’t laugh.  He’s got an MBA and really knows his stuff.

Apparently, you can use music to fend off hearing loss as you get older.  Who knew?

How many songs do you have in your iPod?  Does anyone remember what 20,000 songs looked like in the days of physical media?  This guy does.

Rdio has launced the Polaris Record Club.  From now until the gala in September, Rdio will power streams of the ten Short List albums through the official Polaris Music Prize website.  Things begin today with Native Speaker from Braids.
