1. Florence and the Machine will release the follow-up to Lungs on November 7 in the UK and the folowing day in North America. There’s no title yet, but I can tell you that I was at Abbey Road Studios in May when she was recording it and the collection of instruments she and her people were using in Studio 3 was…impressive. Here’s a new track called “What the Water Gave Me,” which is available now on iTunes. The album will also feature the live favourite “Strangeness and Charm.” Check out this live performance of that song.
2. The new album from Jane’s Addiction, The Great Escape, has been pushed back a week. It’ll now come out October 4.
3. Could there be a riot at the Big 4 metal show at Yankee Stadium next month? Some people think so.
4. Tom DeLonge of Blink 182 has launched a cancer awareness campaign after he was diagnosed last year.
5. A band called Black Water Rising is suing the New Jersey Devils for using their song “Rise” as the team’s intro music.
6. A rival to Ticketmaster? Yes.
7. No drugs have been found in Amy Winehouse’s body. So what killed her, then?
8. A ruling by a court could have a major impact for cloud-based music services.
