Twelve Oasis albums have been released in Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos
Trust me: When you hear an album that’s been repurposed into a Dolby Atmos mix, your jaw will hit the floor (providing you listen on the right equipment, of course.) It’s an amazIng immersive experience where you seem to be right in the middle of the music as it comes at you from all directions. I believe this is the greatest advance in audio listening since stereo came on the market in 1958. I’ll just say this: You have to experience it to believe it.
More and more albums are being remixed this way. Last week, we learned that Apple music is releasing the entire Oasis catalogue in Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos (the studio albums, three compilation records, and the live album from Knebworth.)
The band’s label, Big Brother Recordings, got Grammy award-winning producer Ryan Hewitt to recreate the mixes from the ground up. These are total reconstructions which took more than 18 months to complete. This is all part of the carefully-coordinated lead-up to the start of the Oasis reunion tour in July.
You can hear how it was done here. And if you’ve got Apple Music, you can fill yer boots with these new mixes right now.
