U2 finally announces dates for their Las Vegas residency. This actually looks pretty fantastic. [Slight update: There are more shows.]

It’s what fans had guess all along.

The band revealed details of their “U2:UV Achtung Baby” Las Vegas residency today (April 24), although this might be just the first tranche of dates. The group (minus Larry, who is still recovering from back issues) will be at the brand-new MSG Sphere starting September 29. Tickets go on sale Thursday for Ticketmaster Verified Fans. Scroll down for all twelve dates.

The tech involved with the construction of The Sphere looks…wow. There’s really no other venue like it anywhere.

There’s also a trailer and an interview with Bono and The Edge. This does look interesting. In-concert Dolby ATMOS mixes? Cool. And 160,000 speakers? Oh my.
